With the release of his most recent album, ‘D-Day,’ on Friday, April 21, 2023, Agust D had a spectacular debut on the Apple Music Charts for Nigeria.
Agust D, a member of the largest band in the world right now, BTS, had a ton of success with his album “D-Day” on the charts throughout the globe. The rapper with “D-Day” led the Apple Music Top Albums Chart, Top Videos Chart, and Top Songs Chart for Nigeria, surpassing albums by notable musicians like Wizkid and Davido on the chart. Nigeria was not left out.
After a day of monitoring, “D-Day” overcame Wizkid’s first album on the list, “Superstar,” to hold the number 25 position on the overall Apple Music Top Albums chart.
The main song from the album, “Haegeum,” reached the number 53 place on the list. “People pt 2,” which also includes IU, had the number 83 position. Music videos from Agust D’s “D-Day” album also held two spots on the general Top Videos chart for Apple Music in Nigeria.
‘D-Day’ defeated Davido’s ‘A Good Time’ album and Joeboy’s ‘Body & Soul’ record to claim the top spot on the Apple Music Top Albums Chart for Pop. Seven out of the album’s ten tracks, titled August D, also made their Apple Music Top Tracks Pop Chart debut in Nigeria.
Haegeum kept the top spot, coming in at number 89, and ‘People Pt 2’ came in at number 129. This includes J-Hope at position 155, “D-Day” at position 156, “AMYGDALA” at position 171, “SDL” at position 190, and “Snooze” at position 193.
Agust D’s debut in Nigeria wasn’t limited to the Apple Music Charts; two tracks from his album, “Haegeum” and “People pt 2,” both launched and reentered the Spotify Nigeria Top Tracks
Chart. Haegeum debuted at position 169 on the Spotify Top Songs Nigeria list with over 6000 streams, while ‘People pt 2’, which includes IU, made a chart comeback at position 189 with over 5900 streams.
At number 65 on the Spotify Top Artists Chart for Nigeria, Agust D also reached a new top.
Agust D has teamed up with other group members to officially launch both as a group and with individual projects on the Nigerian charts for Apple Music and Spotify.
