Kidi, a musical sensation from Ghana, has added her voice to the clamor of people worried about the country’s sale of inferior fuel and how it affects consumers’ cars.
Kidi expressed his dismay on his X (previously Twitter) handle about the rising number of engine and car part damage cases brought on by subpar fuel being pumped out of gas stations.
He demanded an explanation for why such inferior fuel was being offered and urged immediate action to rectify the problem.
“This poor fuel is turning into a major pandemic that is damaging engines and plugs. There is an urgent urgency to take action. Why do you sell folks inferior fuel? Why is it the case? He stated.
Concerns concerning an increasing number of complaints regarding fuel quality from automobile owners, especially those who use gasoline, were brought up by the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC) in November.
Reduced engine performance was the result of issues drivers reported, including difficult gear changes, delayed acceleration, and misfiring plugs. Initial research indicated that the fuel might contain a significant amount of manganese.
They demanded stringent restrictions and the identification of oil marketing organizations providing fuel with high manganese levels, and they presented proof of spark plug damage. The Italian Consul in Ghana also experienced similar problems with his recently acquired vehicle.
Maintaining standards for petroleum products is vital, and COPEC has repeatedly threatened legal action against the National Petroleum Authority if the issue is not swiftly resolved.
This bad fuel ruining engines and plugs is becoming a serious pandemic. Something needs to be done ASAP . Why are you selling people bad fuel ????? What is the reason
