When Yvonne Nelson exposes Sarkodie in her memoir, she says, “We’re not friends.”

After her biography, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” was released, actress Yvonne Nelson talked candidly about how her relationship with rapper Sarkodie had become strained.

Nelson wrote about her previous relationship with Sarkodie, which ended in an abortion, in her book. Their relationship has deteriorated since the book’s release, and Nelson has acknowledged their growing alienation from one another. Nelson mentioned the value of expressing the truth, even if it makes other people uncomfortable, in his Onua FM speech.

We weren’t at odds with one another. We have never been close friends, and we are not friends now that what happened in the book has happened. People should feel free to express their emotions, but it doesn’t mean that they should stop sharing their tales.

“Our young girls are being told to speak up, and if doing so makes someone uncomfortable, then that is their problem as long as you are speaking the truth,”

Following the publication of the book, in which Nelson described their previous affair and subsequent pregnancy termination as a result of Sarkodie’s unwillingness to accept responsibility, tension between the two became apparent.

Sarkodie responded to the accusations by saying that Nelson’s choice to publicize the incident was solely her own in the song “Try Me.”
