He claims that in order for establishments like the E-Blocks and Day Secondary Schools—which the Mahama administration launched—to be functional and viable, they must have the necessary infrastructure and educational accessories.

The Minister has announced plans to build dorms for e-blocks and day schools in difficult-to-reach regions as a solution.

The administration has been urged on multiple occasions to pledge to see projects through to completion in various economic areas.

Within the field of education, certain E-blocks that are part of the NDC government’s community day schools scheme have been neglected.

However, some of these initiatives are located in places that are inaccessible to the intended beneficiaries, according to Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education.

As a result, he has promised that living facilities will be added and they will become boarding schools.

Some e-blocks might exist that we haven’t yet unlocked. However, installing an e-block in the center of Accra or Kumasi is a wise investment. But in order to make it functional for students to reside there, dormitory blocks must be added if it is located in a remote area of the jungle, six miles from the closest village.

“We’re improving them so that the good people of Ghana can benefit from the investment; they haven’t been abandoned,” he stated.

The Minister was visiting a few schools in the towns of Ejisu and Bosomtwe as part of a working tour.

He visited the Bosomtwe Girls STEM Senior High School, Ejisuman Senior High School, and the Ejisu-Adadientem Church of Pentecost.

Dr. Adutwum restated the administration’s resolve to enhance the educational system.

Our enrolment has increased to almost 1.4 million from over 830,000 in 2017. That is quite an accomplishment. I tell the pupils to adopt a growth attitude that everything is achievable because it takes the vision and tenacity of the Ghanaian people to support the president to make this vision a reality,” he stated.

Cassandra Osei Wusu, the head of Ejisuman Senior High School, emphasized the difficulties facing the institution and expressed gratitude for the Minister’s prompt involvement.

“Students are struggling, which is harming teaching and learning. There is a paucity of furniture, dining hall tables and benches, and inadequate bunk beds in the dorm. The preacher is greatly appreciated at the school. We’re hoping he keeps his word on everything he promised,” she remarked.
