According to Buckingham Palace, the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned about her health.
The Queen’s children have all congregated at her Scottish estate near Aberdeen.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision,” according to a statement.
It went on to say that the Queen is “comfortable.”
Buckingham Palace rarely issues statements like this because it is usually unwilling to comment on the 96-year-old monarch’s medical matters, which are considered private.
Prince Charles, her son, is at Balmoral with his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Just before 6:00 p.m. BST, her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge, along with his wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and other sons, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex, landed at Aberdeen airport.
They traveled around 40 miles in a car by themselves, together, with Prince William, to the Queen’s Scottish home (64km).
