Stonebwoy, a Ghanaian reggae/dancehall performer, appears to be the newest African artist to sign with Def Jam Africa.
According to a post on the record label’s official Twitter page, the BHIM Nation president has signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings Africa, a new label division of Universal Music Group and Def Jam Recordings.

Def Jam Recordings Africa was founded in 2020 with the goal of representing the top hip-hop and Afrobeats artists on the continent. Def Jam Africa will “follow the blueprint of the legendary Def Jam Recordings label, which has led and impacted the cutting-edge in hip-hop and urban culture for more than 35 years,” according to a press release from UMG.
Nigerians Larry Gaaga and Vector, as well as South Africans Boity, Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai, Nasty C, Tshego, Tellaman, and Ricky Tyler, have already signed to the label. If you enjoy our stories kindly join our community for more updates ☺️
