Spotify is expanding its AI-powered playlist creation tool for premium users to four new markets, including the U.S. and Canada, the Swedish streaming company announced on Tuesday. The AI Playlist, still in beta, allows users to personalize song selections and further refine them with text prompts.
The feature is also being introduced in Ireland and New Zealand as part of Spotify’s strategy to attract more subscribers by enhancing its app with AI features, amid increasing competition from Apple and Amazon.
Spotify also offers features like ‘daylist,’ which updates daily with new music suggestions, and ‘AI DJ,’ which provides recommendations based on a user’s listening history. The company reported a 12% increase in paying subscribers, reaching 246 million by the second quarter.
