The latest PlayStation beta introduces the ability to create personalized 3D audio profiles on your PS5, enhancing your ability to pinpoint the locations of characters and objects in the game world. By wearing headphones or earbuds, you can run sound tests that ask you to identify where certain sounds are coming from and at what angles. Your responses will allow the PS5 to generate an audio profile tailored to your preferences, which will be saved to your account for improved audio tracking in games.
To create an audio profile, navigate to the settings menu and select Sound > 3D Audio (Headphones).
The beta also introduces an adaptive charging feature for the DualSense wireless controllers, DualSense Edge wireless controllers, PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, and Access controllers. This feature, exclusive to the latest PS5 model released last year, limits the power supplied to controllers in rest mode based on their battery levels and stops supplying power to the USB port when no controller is connected.
The beta is available to selected participants in the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Germany, and France, with plans for a global rollout in the coming months.
