The event will be hosted by ace presenters Naa Ashorkor and Jay Foley, who will also welcome back fans for the first time in three years following the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual editions of the last two editions helped establish the Awards as one of the continent’s most groundbreaking. Reverting to an in-person live audience, according to the organizers, will make the Awards even bigger and better.
With 12 votes, Sarkodie takes the lead in this year’s nominees. KiDi, last year’s Artiste of the Year, is in line for a historic encore, but he’ll have to beat out eight other artists, including label mate Kuami Eugene and superstars Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Gyakie, and Black Sherif. No artist has ever received the prestigious Artiste of the Year award twice.
At 7 p.m. GMT, the 3Music Awards ’22 will be broadcast live on 3Music TV and affiliate stations, as well as on all official 3Music Awards Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts.
