St. Louis rapper Huey, known for his 2007 smash “Pop, Lock & Drop It,” was killed in a double shooting, police reported Friday in St. Louis County.
The shooting took place Thursday in Kinloch, Missouri, a town about 15 miles north of St. Louis, where authorities were informed that the 32-year-old victim — whose real name is Lawrence Franks Jr. — had arrived at a nearby hospital with at least one gunshot wound, authorities said.

Franks was declared dead soon after his hospital entry, police added. No arrest was made in conjunction with the attack, and a reason was not known, police said.
“Detectives suspect that as many as ten other people were involved at the course of this event at and near the crime scene. Police also urge anyone who are possible witnesses to notify them immediately,” police added.
A second survivor of the attack went to the Ferguson Police Department and was transported to a nearby hospital where the wounds were not life-threatening, police said.
Huey ‘s hit “Pop, Lock & Drop It” was released in 2007 and was in the Billboard Hot 100 for 23 weeks, peaking at No. 6.
