Peter Okoye, one-half of P-Square, has used his social media platform to speak in advance of the Nigerian general elections in 2023.
On Saturday, January 14, 2022, Peter Okoye, one-half of the multi-award-winning group P-Square, addressed the issue of musicians appearing at general election campaigns in a post on his social media account.
The musician reacted angrily to those who criticized them for endorsing Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
He stated:
Thanks, @psquare Amazing fans! I appreciate all of your love and support throughout the years. Likewise for you PDAPC people! Elections will occur and then pass. And then we shall all proceed! Keep in mind that today’s music transcends Nigeria and Africa! So quit threatening in vain.
The vocalist, who had a well-received concert in Senegal, continued by saying that the band has followers all around the world. Added him:
Our most recent message, which I just submitted from Senegal, is a huge pain in the PDAPC! Elections will occur and then pass. And we’re still planning our tour to Cameroon and Europe!
