Patricia Asiedu, also known as Nana Agradaa and leader of Heaven Way Ministries International, has issued a warning to fellow clergyman Rev. Owusu Bempah regarding his prayers for National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama. Nana Agradaa believes that Mahama is already a strong contender for the 2024 general elections, making additional prayers for his success unnecessary.
During an Instagram live session, Nana Agradaa suggested that if Mahama does not win the presidency, Rev. Owusu Bempah could be blamed for any setbacks in Mahama’s campaign. Speaking in Twi, she stated, “I love Mahama, but I am not into politics.
Her comments follow Rev. Owusu Bempah’s prayer for Mahama during a meeting between the NDC and clergy members on October 1, 2024. In his prayer, Owusu Bempah asked for God’s favor to grant Mahama victory in the upcoming elections due to his kind heart. This prayer stirred controversy on social media, with many questioning Owusu Bempah’s intentions, as he is known to be associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Nana Agradaa also expressed her relief that Mahama did not personally visit Owusu Bempah’s church despite the prayer in his favor. The reactions to this situation remain divided as political supporters and critics debate the significance of Owusu Bempah’s actions and Nana Agradaa’s warning, reflecting the close relationship between religion and politics in Ghana’s 2024 election.
