OpenAI is beginning to release an advanced voice mode to a limited number of ChatGPT Plus users, the Microsoft-backed AI startup announced on Tuesday via a post on X. The rollout of this realistic voice interaction feature, initially planned for late June, was postponed to July to meet the company’s launch standards.

In June, OpenAI stated it was refining the model’s ability to identify and reject inappropriate content, enhancing user experience, and readying its infrastructure for scaling. The company continues to develop new generative AI products to stay ahead in the competitive AI market, as businesses rapidly adopt this technology.
