Renowned Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has reaffirmed her strong commitment to integrity in the entertainment industry while reminiscing about her first love and mentor, Morris.
Addressing the issue of exploitation in the film industry, McBrown emphasized that she has never been pressured by directors for sexual favors in exchange for roles. During an interview on Onua Showtime, she confidently stated that she is not someone who can be easily coerced into secret affairs.
“When I joined the movie industry, no one attempted to lure me into a hidden relationship because I am always open about who I am with. I don’t hide my relationships—it’s important for me to introduce my partner to the public,” she said.
Reflecting on her early days in the industry, McBrown shared a touching story about Morris, the man who gave her her first movie script and later became her boyfriend. She described him as kind, handsome, respectful, and supportive.
McBrown further revealed that their relationship, which lasted two and a half years, became well-known, discouraging unwanted advances from other men. “Everyone, including his family, knew about us. Because of his reputation, people didn’t approach me inappropriately,” she explained.
During the interview, host Kwesi Ernest playfully remarked that many people might start searching for Morris after hearing her story. McBrown laughed and responded, “Let them search, he is a nice guy.”
Through this candid conversation, McBrown not only shared insights into her journey in the film industry but also reinforced her values of integrity and transparency in both her personal and professional life.
