Lionel Messi won the eighth and most prestigious Ballon d’Or in history in 2023

The former player for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain was chosen as the recipient of the award due to his outstanding performance during the FIFA World Cup in 2022, which was held in Qatar. For the first time since Diego Maradona guided them to victory in the 1986 championship, Lionel Messi guided his team to victory in the most profitable competition.

 

Since joining the MLS, he has also performed admirably for Inter Miami, helping the team win its first-ever trophy.
