Despite earlier reports, Mr. Jacob Kofi Ampomah clarified that his son was seated in the back seat, not the front, when their vehicle was struck by LilWin’s car on the tragic day of the accident.
They argued that the father shared responsibility for the accident and cautioned against blaming LilWin solely.
Nana Yaa Brefo questioned the decision to place a three-year-old in the front, highlighting that it is illegal under Ghanaian law to have a child in the front seat.
However, Mr. Ampomah disputed these claims, insisting his son was in the back seat.
He explained that the impact of the crash propelled his son from the back to the front of the vehicle. “My son was seated in the back seat when the accident happened. The impact threw him from the back to the front. I saw him lying in front of me,” he detailed in an interview with Pure TV.
Three-year-old Nana Yaw tragically died in the crash involving Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as LilWin.
Reports indicate that LilWin was driving at high speed when he collided with the vehicle carrying Nana Yaw and his father.
Both were rushed to a nearby hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where the young boy succumbed to his injuries.
The accident occurred while LilWin was on his way to the premiere of his film ‘A Country Called Ghana’ in Kumasi.
