Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, has turned to Instagram to voice her concerns to a particular segment of her fan base who excessively respect her without mentioning her by name.
A mild warning to people used to overly formality was given by the mother of one in a video tweeted on @nollywoodcital and instantly went viral.
Simi stated that she would rather be called “sir” or even called by name than “ma.”
The gifted vocalist, who earlier made her hit song available in French, discussed how the increased appreciation started at the age of 20 in the video.
Simi told her supporters not to call her “ma” and acknowledged the love they had shown her. She also stressed that, even though she is grateful, she still feels very young.
