The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, along with the Police Management Board (POMAB), has met with the family of Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Pooley, following his tragic death during a Ghana Premier League match.
Upon arrival, the IGP first spoke with the deceased’s wife before meeting his mother. The delegation also included Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Chairman, Kontoponii Aferehene, James Kwesi Appiah, and some club supporters.
During the visit, the IGP was briefed on how the family received the heartbreaking news of Yaw Frimpong’s death. Dr. Dampare assured the family of full support during the investigation, promising to provide clinical psychologists and police personnel to assist them and gather necessary information for further inquiries. This effort is aimed at easing the family’s burden, ensuring they receive regular updates without needing frequent trips to the police station.
