After 28 years of magnificent music, renowned gospel musician Great Ampong has disclosed that he is about to release his 17th studio album, a major turning point in his remarkable career.
During his appearance on UTV’s Showbiz Night, the devout member of Seventh-day Adventists conveyed his appreciation for God’s blessings during his career in the music industry.
He revealed that his career as a musician started in 1996 and that, four years into it, he released his first album in 2000.
“I have 28 years of singing experience. I began in 1996, and in 2000 I released my debut album.”
Great Ampong’s 17th song, “Style Biaa Bi,“ demonstrates his unwavering dedication to using his music to share the gospel.
Including a song for the LGBTQI+ community that expresses the idea that those who have fallen short of God’s glory and engage in such cruel behavior should seek the kingdom of heaven
He went on to explain that some of the songs on the album “Gyata Bewe Tarlia” addressed the marginalized LGBTQI+ community. The message of the song, he said, encourages people who have participated in such practices to seek the kingdom of God, highlighting the importance of repentance and spiritual development.
“In the song, I give advice to those who engage in the act to break away from it and seek God’s kingdom instead. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah as a result of this deed,” he said, highlighting the gospel’s ability to redeem and transform.
The album debut for Great Ampong is set for Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Parliament Chapel of Prophet Amoako Atta in Accra.
