Joao Felix, a striker for Atletico Madrid, has traveled to London for his physical in preparation for his loan to Chelsea.
Arsenal and Manchester United were allegedly interested in signing the Portuguese international, but both teams appear to find Atletico’s asking price to be too exorbitant. According to sources from Sky Sports News, the Red Devils were operating on a limited budget and were unable to spend that much for the player, which was also the case with the Gunners.
The injury issue at the club was another factor in why Chelsea did not spend time on the deal even though they were in a stronger position to sign the player. They will pay £11 million to Atletico for the youngster, and they must also cover Felix’s salary while he is on loan.
Because there is no chance to purchase the player when the loan period is through, the transaction has not been favorably received by all Chelsea fans.
