As she prepares her tongue-wagging, spirit-filled gospel tune called, Divine Selection, Ghanaian gospel diva Faustina Mawusi Seshie Appiah, also known as Mawusi, who is residing in the US, appears to be changing the story of gospel song production in Africa.
The song tries to rekindle Christians’ faith in order to hold steady and be grateful, particularly in these latter days when circumstances keep more dreadful with increased sufferings.
Divine Selection, a song with a strong English influence and a hint of Twi, also discusses divine defense. Mawusi performed it, while Herbert Crassie wrote and produced it.
With a background as a trained pharmaceutical technician and a flight attendant and currently pursuing Bachelors in healthcare Management in Colorado Christian University, USA, Mawusi has garnered experiences from all these spheres. This goes a long way to help her music composition, no doubts she is deep in coining her words.
Currently under the management of 2Face Records, Mawusi aims to cement her name in the heart’s of many by way of her soul touching songs and donations to orphans, the homeless, the poor etc. through her Mawusi Appiah Ministry.
The ministry of Mawusi Appiah is solely founded on the Bible. I wish to remain untainted by the world while aiding those in need, the desolate, orphans, and widows in their plight. James 1:27 serves as my inspiration, and I think I can achieve this goal with the modest income I receive from my singing, she stated.
Mawusi is prepared to strengthen the influence of God in the gospel music sector with the release of her first song. She is grateful to God and thinks it’s a fantastic way to start the year.
The Herbert Crassie-produced song “Divine Selection” will be made accessible on all music streaming services on January 27, 2023.
