On Wednesday, February 5, 2024, Captain Planet took to Twitter to express his concerns, writing:
“Ghana Music Industry, let’s come together and do something for Okomfo Kwadee before it’s too late.”

The viral footage shows Kwadee, born Jerry Anaba, singing some of his old songs in a worrying condition. Once a dominant force in Ghana’s hiplife scene, Kwadee gained fame in the early 2000s with hits like Abrantie, Ofie Nipa, Meko M’anim, Yeko Mmaa Pe, Ataa Adwoa, and Boyz Boyz. His distinctive storytelling and unique voice made him a household name.

Radio personality Maximous Mensah, also known as Dr. Pounds, also shared the viral video, expressing deep concern: “What can we really do to help our brother? This is so sad! He’s a legend. GOD HELP OUR BROTHER.”

Over the years, various individuals, including music producer Abraham Ohene Djan and former hiplife artist turned preacher Evangelist Lord Kenya, have attempted to provide Kwadee with medical care. However, reports suggest that these efforts were met with resistance from his family, complicating the process of getting him the help he needs.
