Google initially launched its Gemini Live conversational AI voice chat in English, but it’s now expanding to additional languages, starting with French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, and Spanish. While these languages are expected to be fully available in the next few weeks, Google remains vague about the timeline for rolling out other Gemini features, stating they’ll be released “in the coming weeks.”
However, the broader capabilities of the Gemini virtual assistant — beyond voice mode — have progressed more slowly. At Google’s I/O event earlier this year, the company announced future Gemini extensions for apps like Calendar, Tasks, and Keep.
These extensions will allow the AI to handle tasks such as adding dates from a flyer to your calendar or creating a shopping list from a recipe photo. While these features are still on the way, Google has only confirmed they’ll arrive “over the coming weeks,” echoing the same timeline as before.
