Stonebwoy has announced that he will not be signing any new artists for the time being due to his inability to keep his first two signed artists on his record label.
Stonebwoy signed the Afrobeat badman Kelvyn Boy to his record label and groomed him to suit the music industry, but the two parted ways in August 2019 for unknown reasons.
He later signed Barbara Naa Okailey Nyarko, also known as OV, the winner of MTN Hitmaker Season 7, but later parted ways with her, and no one has heard from her since.
Stonebwoy revealed that he has no plans to sign any up-and-coming artists for the time being during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show.
He claims that he has a lot of work to do for himself and his brand, and he doesn’t want to be distracted when grooming an upcoming artist.
He said that he will continue to help young artists who seek collaborations and support from him, but that he has no plans to sign any of them at this time.
He went on to say that his decision not to sign any acts has little to do with previous conflicts with former signees, but that he doesn’t want to split his focus between promoting his brand and grooming an up-and-coming artiste.
On Saturday, May 22nd, Stonebwoy will perform a virtual concert at Bay View Village to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his Angloga Junction album.
“For the time being, I have no plans to sign any upcoming artists,” Stonebwoy says.
