Before the Nigerian presidential elections in 2023, Brymo received criticism from supporters for his dubious ethnic remarks.
Brymo has replied to supporters who have criticized him for his dubious and contentious remarks, which have a tribal motivation. The musician had declared that because of Peter Obi’s race, he would not receive his vote for president.
Brymo made controversial remarks on social media on December 31, 2022, in response to a message that discussed how all candidates were striving for the role of president. He had distributed the feedback that read:
Maybe… nonetheless, I wouldn’t go too far to guarantee that. Lagos specifically, since the south-west binds us all! come what may… lol… The BAT is NVM! There won’t be any chaos, and when authority is transferred to the east, everyone will feel the pain.
Don’t respect my decisions or my knowledge… You’re attempting to reject resolution… Dispute more… pls …. It might not be wise to elect him just yet; in order to lead the rest of us, he may need to intensely organize his home front. It is safer to start with an Igbo VP to test the waters with the area.
Nigerians who disagreed with this viewpoint responded negatively to the statements, and some fans stopped admiring the singer as a talent. This caused Brymo to post a second remark, which said:
There’s no way even two people could have said “there’s point in what BrymO is saying,” but instead you all went looking for isolated tweets to criticize. F*ck you all!
