After releasing his single Rasta Shepherd, Ghanaian musician Exo Xan makes a triumphant comeback with “Calvary,” another amazing album.
The song, which was created by Joker Nharnah, is about Exo’s search for inner calm in spite of the storms he is always in.
As a young guy figuring things out, he talks on how difficult life can be when your goals appear unattainable and how these difficulties can undermine your self-worth and cause you to become uninspired and unproductive.
He continues, saying, “Many Wey duck me on this road, then dey pretend they fuck with this growth,” as he talks about individuals who he thought loved him but leave him hanging and how everything seemed to be against him.
The song’s hook shows the times when he gives in to these issues and isolates himself from the outside world and his goals.
Exo Xan talks on his experiences in similar circumstances and how they made him feel depressed and the need to withdraw. The phrase “Tseyoo tawo ayifro dodo, Problems dey her home” in the hook, however, represents the moment he learns that everyone has difficulties of their own, albeit in various forms, and it is at that knowledge that he finds peace. Being a community and safe place, Calvary makes everyone feel less alone.
Exo Xan’s artistic abilities are embodied in “Calvary.”
Exo has connected more deeply with fans and music lovers since his debut thanks to his outstanding artistry in lyricism, melody, and delivery. “Calvary” is just another chance for him to do so.
On November 30, Calvary will be available at all retailers.
