Drake is reassembling the band for a festival in his hometown later this month. The OVO boss announced on Wednesday (July 13) that October World Weekend will take over his hometown of Toronto from July 28 to August 1 with a killer lineup
that includes a Young Money reunion with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, as well as appearances from Lil Baby and Chris Brown.
Drizzy’s long-running OVO Fest will hit the road in 2023 to celebrate its tenth anniversary, according to the announcement.
“I am currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the world for the 10th Anniversary in 2023, but we obviously wanted to turn the city up for the summer!!!” Drake promised more announcements on Instagram soon.
Tickets for the October World Weekend, which kicks off on July 28 at History with the All-Canadian Northstars, will go on sale on Friday here. Brown and Baby will perform on the Budweiser Stage on July 29, followed by the Young Money reunion on August 1 on the Budweiser Stage.
It was unclear whether Drake was scheduled to perform at the event at the time of publication, but the rapper has plenty of new material if he does take the stage after releasing his surprise house-inspired Honestly, Nevermind album last month. Drake became the fifth artist in history to have 11 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 album charts with the release of the collection. He’s also been practicing his stage presence, joining the Backstreet Boys in Toronto on July 2 to perform their classic “I Want It That Way.”
