Diana Asamoah, a gospel musician from Ghana, disclosed that she was a teacher before pursuing her career in music.
In an interview with Andy Dosty for Hit FM’s morning program Daybreak Hitz, Ms. Asamoah revealed that she had previously worked as a classroom teacher.
She said that after completing her basic schooling in 1987, her father—who was also a teacher—had an impact on her choice of work.
“My father wanted me to learn how to sew clothing in Kumasi after I finished school, but he hadn’t purchased the sewing machine or other necessities at the time, so I considered selling beans, soap, and other things. But he objected to the thought of my showing residences to potential buyers. According to Diana Asamoah, “He was afraid that I might be raped.”
She claimed that as a result, she had to take a chance working as a student teacher at St. Monica’s School, where her outstanding performance led to her employment.
Diana Asamoah claimed to have taught geography, Twi, and any other subject in addition to the queen’s language, despite the fact that she does not speak English well.
Fascinatingly, she claimed that every student she instructed passed their exams.
