Nigerian pop sensation Davido has disclosed that his strict father did not mind locking him up because he had decided to become a musician as a profession.
Davido said that his father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, detained him multiple times because he was opposed to his singing profession in a special episode of New York’s Ebro in the Morning Program on Hot 97FM.
The “Unavailable” hitmaker says he was skipping school at the time to hit the studios, which infuriated his scholarly father.
On one occasion, Davido described how, at his father’s command, the police surrounded him and detained him.
He claimed that was the moment he realized his father was a strict parent and made the decision to prioritize his education.
