Chance The Rapper: My trip to Ghana was a life-changing experience.

The three-time Grammy winner revealed this during a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “It was a spur-of-the-moment decision by one of my best friends, fantastic musician Vic Mensa, who we grew up with in music and other things, he’s Ghanaian and spends all his winters there and always visits his family.” “This winter, I asked if I could come with you, and he said yes, and I will always adore him for it,” he stated.

On January 5th, news of Chance’s visit in Ghana went viral on social media, and in a week, the rapper had more than he could have dreamed for.

After being brought up from Kotoka International Airport by fellow rapper Vic Mensa, the Chicago-based rapper joyfully announced his arrival to his Instagram followers.

The next day, Chance and his pals went to the Adom Waterfall in Obosomase, which is close to the source of the Tsenku waterfalls, to appreciate Ghana’s beautiful nature. He also visited Jubilee House, Freedom Skatepark, Gallery 57 inside Kempinski Goldcoast Hotel, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum, Front/Back, Republic Bar, and Labadi Beach, all of which he filmed in a movie. Chance, who was given the Ghanaian name “Nana Kofi Boa-Ampensom,” went on a family history quest as well. According to an Instagram post, his family constructed a church where he worshiped years ago.

He stated that the church’s head, whom he referred to as Bishop Nkansah, was a friend of his great grandmother. Chance, In addition, the rapper announced that his family has established a school in Jamestown.

“My great grandpa was a Pan Africanist and a commander under Marcus Garvey,” he added in another post.

Another endeavor Chance did during his week-long visit to Ghana was meeting and engaging with Ghanaian creatives in the music business.

Chance has collaborated with Darko Vibes, King Promise, Black Sherrif, Manifest, and Sarkodie, lending his voice and ability to songs that Ghanaian music fans can’t wait to hear when they’re released.
