By signing to a lucrative multi-million dollar contract renewal with industry titan Sony Music, Davido has once again accomplished a spectacular feat.

The artist and his legal team, BFA & Co Legal, acknowledged the contract renewal in various tweets made on their social media platforms today, Friday, May 19, 2023.

Black SherifBlack Sherif, the reigning artiste of the year, has hit back at netizens who have compared him to Ghana’s most decorative rapper Sarkodie.

In a discussion on UTV Showbiz, Blacko stated that such a comparison is unfair and meaningless.

In his submission, he stated that whether or not his verse was on Sarkodie’s album, it would have still made waves, adding that Sarkodie is a brand in its own right and has been in the industry for over a decade, so the shallow comparison makes no sense.

StonebwoyStonebwoy, a dancehall performer from Ghana, has addressed accusations that he insulted Shatta Wale during a stage performance.

The dancehall rapper was accused of insulting Shatta Wale while performing for his fans during the release of his 5th Dimension album a few weeks ago

In a rant during the performance, Stonebwoy said: “If anybody talk say he be the king of dancehall, talk am say ein morda”.

The fact that Shatta Wale goes by the title “Dancehall King” led many to interpret Stonebwoy’s comments as an oblique jab at Shatta.

But in a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Stonebwoy said that such claims were untrue and that he had not intended to disparage Shatta Wale.

“In the heat of the moment, I was overwhelmed and wanted to inspire the young artists who were present and were watching me perform that they did not have to look up to anyone as the king of dancehall since there is a lot of work to do”, Stonebwoy stated.

“It was like a drop-a-mic moment…For this event, a lot of Dancehall artists came. It was just overwhelming. So there was a high spirit and sense of duty for those of us the pacesetters to continue to pave the way for those upcoming just as I was doing on the stage at that moment.

“In context, it [the utterance] is to say there is work to be done, so when someone claims [kingship], it’s futility and what does he want us to do with the ones looking up to us?” he quizzed

The award-winning dancehall artiste added that he did not mean to insult Shatta, and even though people would not believe him or his explanation, that was all he meant.

AsakeThe official date for the headline performance at London’s renowned O2 Arena has been revealed by talented Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake.

Asake is scheduled to return to Queensland in 2023 after selling out three performances at the 5000-capacity O2 Brixton Academy in London in 2022.

The YBNL signee experienced a setback when the last lap of his 02 Brixton event was postponed due to a security breach that resulted in death, but he plans to make amends with the 20,000-seat 02 Arena.

DavidoDavid Adeleke, a powerful Nigerian artist better known by his stage name Davido, has delighted his fans by sharing exciting news about a brand-new Netflix series.

After taking a significant sabbatical from the music industry, the frontman and owner of DWM, whose fourth studio album ‘Timeless’ continues to rule the music landscape both domestically and globally, appears to have more in store for his fans.

The Afrobeats singer said that a Netflix docuseries on his life dubbed “David” is set to premiere in December during a recent interview with Dubai-based media outlet Esquire Middle East. Davido was hesitant to reveal the information and said:
