Friday’s Wireless Festival in London saw the pairing of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion (July 8).
During Cardi’s headline performance at Finsbury Park, the hip-hop superstars, who were both on the festival’s weekend roster in the UK, shocked the crowd with an energetic performance of their popular song “WAP.”
At the Grammy Awards in 2021, the duo performed “WAP” together for the final time, delivering a really crazed performance of the Billboard Hot 100 song. The rappers spewed their lyrics while writhing about on a huge bed in the middle of the stage during the raucous performance.
In 2020, “WAP” spent a total of four weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, marking its chart-topping debut. The same year, the song spent 10 weeks at the top of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
But during Cardi’s Wireless performance, “WAP” wasn’t the only thing people were talking about. The hip-hop artist clarified Friday night on social media that she didn’t engage into a fight with festival attendees during the performance. She pointed her followers to a video of the incident, which depicts the performer in the pit surrounded by yelling fans, saying, “It wasn’t NO FIGHT.”
Recently, Cardi released “Hot Shit,” her first song of 2022, which features Kanye West and Lil Durk. On Saturday, she tweeted that the song’s music video might be released soon. On her upcoming sophomore album, which will be the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut, Invasion of Privacy, “Hot Shit” will be included.
