The most recent member of Boomplay’s exclusive Golden Club is high-flying Ghanaian vocalist Raphael Kofi Attachie, also known as Camidoh in the entertainment industry. Boomplay is Africa’s largest music streaming and download service.
Camidoh is now a member of Boomplay’s Golden Club after hitting the 100 million stream threshold. The “Sugarcane” singer joins Black Sherif, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale as the fourth Ghanaian artists to accomplish this achievement. Camidoh has joined a group of African celebrities who have achieved notable milestones and records on Boomplay, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Rayvanny, and others.
Camidoh made his debut on the Ghanaian music industry in 2018 after signing with the independent label Grind Don’t Stop (GDS) and releasing his debut track, “For My Lover.” The single and its remix generated excitement about him as the next big thing, which led to the release of his first effort, the six-track EP known as Contigency Plan (CP), to rapturous acclaim.
The viral smash tune “Sugarcane,” which Camidoh debuted in December, was his big break, though. When the chart-topping “Sugarcane” remix with King Promise, Mayorkun, and Darkoo debuted in April 2022, Camidoh became one of the most sought-after African stars of the year. The song launched Camidoh to prominence. To further broaden his appeal throughout Africa and beyond, he released the mini album “Sugarcane EP” and the significant songs “Kaba” and “Slow” after the big single.
Camidoh releases “A Lifetime is Not Enough,” an EP made in conjunction with his GDS label, to kick out 2023. His debut album is expected to be released before the year is over, therefore he aims to do big things this year.
