Haiti’s ruler and leader Jovenel Moïse has been assassinated in an attack on his residence today citing the office of interim Prime Minister Jean Henry-Cèant. He was assassinated by a team of commandos who attacked his home in the hills above Port-au-Prince.
Haiti has suffered for years from political instability, and Moïse had been governing by decree. Critics had accused the 53-year-old of ruling like an autocrat.
