Blogger Sammy Kay, real name Samuel Dortey Kumah, was taken into custody and turned over to the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
The arrest is connected to claims of releasing pornographic photos and using photos of a Cyber Security Authority official without permission.
Online, a sexually suggestive video of socialite Abena Korkor went viral last week. Abena Korkor named a security official connected to the Ghana Police Service’s cybercrime unit and accused two people of being behind the video.
Another lewd video surfaced on social media on Wednesday morning, November 15, 2023, with a tag identifying the security guard in question.
According to reports, Sammy Kay posted the lewd photos online and linked them to images of CSA officials.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) responded by releasing a press release outlining Sammy Kay’s acts and why he was arrested, claiming that they involved the “unlawful use of the images of Cyber Security Authority (CSA) officials.”
The CSA disassociated itself from such acts and underlined that the tagging of the photos to sexual material constituted a criminal attribution and misrepresentation.
Later, Sammy Kay apologized for the prior post, deleted the problematic image from Instagram, and admitted that he had linked the images incorrectly.
