According to him, the bill has been in parliament for years and the Minister made a promise in 2019 during the World Safety Day celebration, that he will do everything to make sure the bill is passed, but to his surprise, it is still the same old story.

“He made a promise 2019 during the World Safety Day and up till now nothing has been done, so am reminding him about his promise. He said he will make sure the bill is passed before the end of the year,” he stated.

He made this in an interview with the B&FT at the third edition of the Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS) awards in Accra. He added that, the call for the bill to be passed has become very necessary because, there are a lot of people working under circumstances that put lives in danger.

He said the Ghana Institute of Engineers (GIE) has a law backing them, therefore, the time is now for the bill to be passed to safeguard their activities as stakeholders.
