Ghanaian comedian Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, has issued a heartfelt plea to the youth of Ghana, urging them to steer clear of drugs.
In an interview with Metro TV, the comedian, often called the “Children’s President,” opened up about his personal struggles with substance abuse and how it negatively impacted his life.
Reflecting on his past, Funny Face admitted that turning to drugs during tough times only made his situation worse instead of providing relief. He warned:
“Say no to drugs because when I went through challenges, I took some, and it didn’t help me. When you’re going through challenges and you take drugs, it worsens.”
He also extended this advice to fellow creatives in the entertainment industry, encouraging them to avoid drug use and seek support during personal struggles. Funny Face highlighted the importance of communication, admitting that bottling up emotions nearly destroyed him.
Drawing from his own experiences with mental health and substance abuse, Funny Face has become a strong advocate for mental well-being and sobriety. His story serves as a crucial reminder of the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of seeking help through open conversations and professional support.
