The 2022 edition of Ghana’s most anticipated awards event, the 3Music Awards, took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre last Saturday, March 26th, 2022, into the morning of Sunday, March 27th, 2022, amidst pomp and pageantry.
Boomplay, Africa’s largest music streaming platform, continued to support the Ghanaian music industry’s growth and development by sponsoring the awards scheme for the third year in a straight.

Boomplay adopted three categories for assistance this year as a partner of the awards scheme: “African Song of the Year,” “Breakthrough Act of the Year,” and the ultimate, “Artiste of the Year.” As a result, a unique public voting platform for the three categories was built on the Boomplay app, which led to a 40 percent weighting of final results.
The awards scheme and Boomplay have partnered before, with Boomplay powering the Leaders of the New School performance shows and sponsoring the Breakthrough Act of the Year category, which was won by Mr. Drew last year.
Winners of the categories, like Mr Drew, will receive substantial promotion on the Boomplay app as well as offline media such as billboards and other marketing and artist promotion channels.

After a technical issue delayed the start of the 2022 edition of the 3Music Awards on Saturday, it lived up to expectations. Black Sherif, Hajia 4Real, Kelvynboy, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Camidoh, and many others gave exciting performances.
