Temilade Openiyi, a popular Nigerian female vocalist known as Tems in the entertainment industry, has won another international award.
Tems, the multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, entertainer, and performing artist, received another international award from Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy on Friday, July 1, 2022.
Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy announced this on their official and verified Twitter page. Tems won the International Award as a result of her success at the recently concluded BET Awards 2022.
The Nigerian songbird won Best International Act at the recently concluded BET Awards, beating out Dave (UK), Dinos (France), Fally Ipupa (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Fireboy DML (Nigeria), Little Simz (UK), Ludmilla (Brazil), Major League DJz (South Africa), and Tayc (France).
Tems also won an award for her contribution to Wizkid’s ‘Essence,’ which was named the best collaboration of the year. Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy is the UK’s largest independent #MusicTherapy charity, believing in the power of music to connect with the human potential that we all possess. Tems, congratulations.

The Lagos native dedicated the award to every single woman who does not believe she is capable of pursuing her dreams. “This is a dream where I’m from in Lagos, as you’re watching me, imagine yourself as me, you’re meant to be here, too,” Tems said as she accepted the award.
