Concerns have been expressed by well-known highlife musician and TV personality Akosua Agyapong of Ghana on the growing tendency among celebrities in that country to stay single while working in the entertainment business.
She brought up the fact that celebrities who chose to marry people outside of the business typically had more successful marriages in a recent Graphic Showbiz debate.
She remarked, “I have long noticed that because their partners are not in the spotlight, celebrities enjoy their marriages and also stay together for longer periods of time.”
Akosua Agyapong observed the dynamics and said that because of the shared spotlight, celebrity couples frequently had difficulties that resulted in mistrust, anxieties, and uncertainties.
Relying on her own experience as the former wife of Highlife musician Amandzeba, she underlined that the nature of the business may make these difficulties more severe.
The same work that I undertake will inevitably lead to trust concerns. No matter how much trust we have, I will always have reservations about you when you step out since you and I both live in the spotlight,” she continued.
She said that celebrity couples’ trust can be impacted by the spotlight’s constant scrutiny and attention from the public.
Consequently, Akosua Agyapong proposed that getting married outside of the industry could lead to more stable and long-lasting marriages.
