Akon is astonished by Afua Asantewaa’s rousing rendition during their meeting in Ivory Coast (VIDEO)

With her effort at a sing-a-thon, Afua Asantewaa has transcended national boundaries, even though Guinness World Records has not yet responded to her.

The broadcaster from Ghana, who was recently named as the country’s tourism ambassador, met Akon during the ongoing AFCON in Ivory Coast, where Ghana is scheduled to play tonight.

In a brief conversation, the well-known Senegalese-American musician expressed his surprise at Afua Asantewaa’s achievement of singing uninterrupted for five days. Akon took Afua to meet some of his African pals right away.

Excitedly, Akon told his buddies, “You know she sang straight for five days, for singing for the longest.” Afua wrote on Instagram, “I love music and it was a pleasure to have met you @akon @sofitelabidjan.”

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum set off on December 24, 2023, with the goal of breaking the record for the longest singing marathon, which is set to end on December 27, 2023. The previous record was held by Sunil Waghmare, who sang for 105 hours in 2012.

Afua Asantewaa finished her effort on December 29, 2023, setting a new record with an astounding 126 hours and 52 minutes.
