Adwoa Saah Boateng, a former beauty queen and media star, has stated that for Ghanaian musicians to succeed internationally, cooperation and support are essential.
According to her, Ghana’s creative sector and the arts have a lot of promise, and artists ought to sincerely help one another on their paths to success.
During a UTV Showbiz Night conversation, Adwoa Saah Boateng stressed that accolades such as the Grammy Awards shouldn’t be the only way to gauge achievement, following Stonebwoy’s withdrawal from the Best African Art Performance Grammy nomination.
She urged musicians to put in the necessary work to grab the attention of the global market, stressing that success is achievable through teamwork and concentrated efforts, and to concentrate on producing timeless, high-quality music that can withstand the test of time, regardless of formal recognition.
“I hope we can all band together to work hard and put in the effort to secure nominations in the future. Congratulations to Stonebwoy for his effort in trying to be considered for a Grammy.” I now see that Nigerians actually live up to their rhetoric, which helps them become more well-known. We can identify those weaknesses and strive to solve them in order to enhance our standing in international awards ceremonies.”
Personally, I believe that making timeless, high-caliber music should be the ultimate measure of accomplishment rather than winning a Grammy. Whether or if Papa Yankson and Daddy Lumba win a Grammy, their song collections are full of classics that never go out of style.
Grammy should not be the yardstick; instead, focus on creating quality music – Adwoa Saah Boateng#UnitedShowbiz pic.twitter.com/HmUlnf9dUW
