Adele has announced that she will be taking a break from music following her Las Vegas residency to pursue a degree in English Literature.
The artist, who debuted the music video for her new song I Drink Wine on Wednesday, expressed regret that she did not attend university after graduating from high school.
Adele, 34, stated in a fan Q&A in Los Angeles seen by The Sun that she will finish an online course to obtain the degree.
she stated: ‘After Vegas, I really want to obtain a degree in English Literature,’ If I hadn’t made it in singing, I believe I would have become a teacher. I believe I would be an English Lit instructor.
‘I absolutely feel like I incorporate my love of English literature into what I do. But, even if it’s unlikely that I’d find a job from my degree, I wish I’d gone to university and had that experience.
‘I won’t go to university; instead, I’ll study online with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025.’ It is only to obtain the qualifications.
Adele’s Las Vegas residency will begin in November, following a last-minute cancellation in January.
The singer revealed the new dates in July, months after canceling her tour with only 24 hours’ notice, leaving fans out of pocket by hundreds of pounds.
