According to 50 Cent, Future has the streets under lock and key.
The hip-hop mogul was asked if he agreed that Future is “bigger in the streets” than JAY-Z during his interview with MSNBC’s Ari Melber.
On addressing what makes an artist significant in hip-hop, Melber remarked, “Future stated in the streets he’s larger than Hov.”
50 answered, “Yes, he is, lot bigger,” before promoting Future’s record collection. He consistently releases massive records that are not on the charts but that the public adores and values.
While 50 claims he has fewer chart-topping records than Future, the latter may be popular in the streets. Future must rank first internally because those records failed to chart, he declared. They won’t look at his figures later on in his career and say, “We should pay you this amount of money because of records that were fantastic on the street.”
Future said back in December 2021, “In the streets, I’m bigger than Jigga,” in a statement that was akin to 50’s. Fans responded to his tweet in various ways.
Also, Melber questioned 50 about his opinion of the top 3 rappers, which included JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Nas. They’re still excellent artists, but not the best, he remarked.
In addition, he disagreed that JAY-Z should come in at No. 2 behind him. “I doubt it. Depending on the time frame. Considering that Eminem had “sold like 90 million CDs,” he asserted, “to me, how do you not look at the No. 1 selling artist?
