Lenovo appears to be gearing up to launch more affordable Copilot Plus PCs. According to reliable leaker Evan Blass, a press release from Lenovo outlines several Copilot Plus PCs set to be unveiled at the IFA trade show later this week, including two models powered by an unannounced 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chip.
Lenovo lists the starting price of the Slim 5x at €899 (approximately $990), while the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 starts at €999, with both models expected to be available in September. This pricing suggests that the Copilot Plus PCs will launch at around €200 less than the €1,199 retail price of the Surface Laptop 7, which is currently the cheapest Copilot Plus PC.
It’s unclear if the US pricing for Lenovo’s new Copilot Plus PCs will be as competitive as the discounts seen on some models at full retail price. For example, you can currently purchase a Dell Inspiron 14 Plus for $799.99 or an HP OmniBook X for $899.99. Both of these Copilot Plus PCs have been discounted, and feature Qualcomm’s 10-core or 12-core Snapdragon chips.
Additionally, Lenovo is planning to release other Copilot Plus PCs with Intel and AMD processors. The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a 15-inch laptop powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 chips, while the Yoga Pro 7 and IdeaPad Slim 5 will both be powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen processors.
