Bishop Daniel Obinim has retracted his earlier claims of having a secret meeting with investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, admitting that he has no evidence to support his assertions.
During a recent church service, the leader of the International God’s Way Church acknowledged that his statements about Anas were inaccurate. He conceded that he could not verify whether the meeting actually took place, as he had no concrete proof.
Obinim expressed gratitude that the person he met did not take advantage of him financially, thanking God that he was not deceived. His retraction follows a statement from Anas’ investigative organization, Tiger Eye P.I., which dismissed the pastor’s claims as false.
The statement also denied allegations that Anas had encouraged Obinim to pursue legal action against former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

Obinim further claimed that during their supposed private meeting—where no recordings were made—Anas removed his trademark mask and revealed his identity. However, after reflecting on the matter for several days, the pastor decided against legal action upon realizing that he and Agyapong were distant relatives.
