Gospel singer Joyce Blessing has voiced her support for King Paluta to win the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, commending his dedication and hard work. However, she also hinted at uncertainties surrounding his chances of securing the award.
In an interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Changes, Joyce Blessing praised the Kumasi-based musician’s commitment over the past year, stating that he truly deserves the honor. Despite her endorsement, she expressed reservations about whether he would actually receive the award, though she chose not to elaborate on her concerns.
“Everyone knows King Paluta has done exceptionally well and deserves this award. But with how things work in Ghana, you never know what might happen,” she remarked.
Joyce Blessing, who recently collaborated with King Paluta on her song Correct, also lauded his performance on the track, describing it as outstanding.
The Artiste of the Year category for this year’s TGMA is highly competitive, featuring nominees such as Kweku Smoke, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, King Promise, and Black Sherif.
In 2024, many expected King Promise to win the award, but he was ultimately overtaken by Afro-Dancehall star Stonebwoy. This year’s edition is expected to be another close race, with King Promise and King Paluta emerging as the frontrunners.
Amid speculation that there may be efforts to block his win for a second consecutive year, King Promise recently addressed the issue during a performance, dismissing the rumors and assuring fans that he and his team remain focused on securing victory.
