Actor Kwaku Manu has criticized claims suggesting the shooting incident involving journalist Kofi Adoma was accidental, highlighting video evidence that shows the shooter’s intentional actions. Following the incident, Kofi Adoma has reportedly been left blind in both eyes, sparking concerns over accountability and the silence of Dormaa traditional leaders.
The popular Kumawood actor shared his views on his YouTube channel, describing the event as “unusual and disturbing.” He noted that the footage shows the shooter deliberately moving toward Kofi Adoma and firing the gun, dismissing assertions of an accidental discharge. Kwaku Manu also questioned why the shooter did not offer any assistance despite Kofi’s cries of intense pain.
Kwaku Manu praised businessman Ibrahim Mahama for his reported generosity in offering to pay for Kofi Adoma’s eye surgery. After sustaining severe injuries, Kofi traveled to Dubai for medical treatment. The incident took place during a festival in Dormaa, the capital of Ghana’s Bono Region.
Initial accounts suggested that gunpowder residue caused Kofi’s injuries, but his wife, Miracle Adoma, refuted these claims in a video statement. She revealed that Kofi was directly shot in the eye, resulting in total blindness in both eyes. Miracle also criticized Dormaa’s traditional leaders, including the Dormaahene, for their lack of concern and support following the tragedy.
