As the PS5 Pro launch approaches this week, more official specifications have been confirmed for the most powerful PS5 model to date. According to details shared by Digital Foundry from the PS5 Pro review unit manual, the console is powered by an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor with an RDNA-based GPU, delivering 16.7 teraflops of compute power, a significant upgrade from the base PS5’s 10.23 teraflops.
Earlier leaked documents in March hinted at a higher performance level due to changes in AMD’s RDNA architecture. The manual also indicates that the PS5 Pro includes 16GB of GDDR6 memory and an additional 2GB of slower DDR5 memory for non-gaming tasks, alongside a 2TB custom SSD for storage. The console has a peak power draw of 390W, higher than the 340W used by the slim and standard versions of the PS5 Digital Edition, although it won’t consistently use that much power.
Sony also announced on the official PlayStation blog that 55 games will be optimized for the PS5 Pro when it launches on November 7th, priced at $699.99. This list includes previously announced games receiving enhancements as well as new titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Star Wars: Outlaws.
