Microsoft is set to merge its Xbox Game Pass and Xbox mobile applications into one unified app. This week, the company is testing a new version of the Xbox app for iOS and Android, which incorporates features from the separate Xbox Game Pass app.
Users will soon be able to browse the entire Game Pass library and manage their memberships directly within the Xbox mobile app. Additionally, Game Pass Ultimate members will have the option to claim perks through this updated app.
According to a Microsoft blog post, “These updates will be available for Xbox beta members on mobile and will be rolled out to everyone soon.” As part of this transition, the Xbox Game Pass app will no longer support new downloads starting in November.
These updates to the mobile Game Pass come shortly after Microsoft introduced its Xbox Game Pass Standard tier, priced at $14.99 per month, which offers console multiplayer access. The Xbox Game Pass Standard was initially announced in July, along with increases in prices for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions.
